Producer Fields, New Line team

No projects identified under pact

Producer Adam Fields has inked a two-year first-look production and development deal with New Line Cinema.

No projects have yet been identified under the deal, which is effective immediately. However, Fields will continue to produce projects set up at other studios.

Adam Fields Prods. recently produced “Donnie Darko,” scribe Richard Kelly’s directorial debut, and participated in the financing of the Universal/Imagine Films girls surfer pic “Blue Crush” through his Hawaii Tax/Equity Fund.

“Adam is an experienced and aggressive producer with a proven track record,” said New Line Cinema production prexy Toby Emmerich. “I have no doubt he will find and shepherd projects that will justify our confidence in him.”

Said Fields, “The projects and ideas I am most attracted to tend to be very concept driven, which makes for a perfect fit with New Line.”

Fields produced or exec produced “Money Train,” “Great Balls of Fire” and “Vision Quest,” and as an exec oversaw such pics as “Sixteen Candles,” “The Breakfast Club,” “Money Train,” “Rosewood Massacre,” “Missing” and “Endless Love,” among others.

He created Preview Tech, a multimedia marketing system that he sold to investment bankers Veronis-Suhler in 1992.

He also has a track record in producing movie soundtracks, including “Flashdance,” “Endless Love,” “Vision Quest” and “Great Balls of Fire.”

In 1996, Fields reestablished his shingle at 20th Century Fox, where he produced “Ravenous” and “Brokedown Palace.”

“Adam is one of the most entrepreneurial and resourceful producers in the business,” said filmmaker Tony Scott, who developed “Josiah’s Canon” with Fields at Fox. “He has the best instincts for material and, most of all, has a brilliant sense of humor.”

Fields’ career includes stints with PolyGram Pictures as well as producers Jon Peters and Ned Tanen.
